June 17: Intercambios, Paella-Making

Today we returned to Salesianas for classes and speaking “intercambios” with students at the school. We enjoyed a long afternoon break, during which we ate lunch, went to the beach, and rested up for the Celtics game (2:00 a.m. tip-off here in Cádiz!) Our afternoon activity with Álvaro was a paella-making class at Foodie Cádiz. We prepped the vegetables, spices, and meats that went into our dinner, a Paella Guiri with garlic, onion, pepper, tomato, leek, peas, paprika, saffron, chicken, and sausage. It was delicious! After dessert, we enjoyed the great weather here in Cádiz before our midnight curfew.
