June 18: Scavenger Hant, Tour of Santa María

This morning, we had a change in our schedule, meeting our teacher, Rosa, in La Plaza de España instead of at our school. Rosa organized a scavenger hunt for us throughout the old city. We had to find different monuments and lesser-known historic sites and take pictures of ourselves in front of each of them. After the scavenger hunt, we went to the central market to get snacks. Some of us decided to eat lunch there, while others explored the shops around the old city before eating lunch together. In the afternoon, a group of us boarded a bus with Álvaro to the port city of Santa María, just across the bay of Cádiz. Unfortunately, the ferries were out of service, or we could have arrived by boat! In Santa María we visited a castle, where we saw the first map of the Americas brought back to Europe, and we toured a wine cellar, which included a barrel signed by LeBron James! In the evening we had time to return to Cádiz and spend some time together on the beach.
