June 21: Gibraltar and Goodbyes

Today was our last full day here in Cádiz. We had class this morning, which included our last intercambio with students from Salesianas. We also received our diplomas from Rosa. In the early afternoon, we boarded the bus with Álvaro and left Cádiz for Gibraltar. We walked through customs into the British Overseas Territory where our second bus driver was waiting to drive us around the peninsula. He showed us the caves, Bahía de los Catalanes, and most importantly, the monkeys. As it was a clear day, we were able to see Morocco and the Spanish protectorate of Ceuta across the Strait of Gibraltar. After another round of free time and shopping, we returned to Cádiz in time to enjoy a final sunset swim before going home to pack our bags ahead of our early morning departure for the trip back to Boston.
